hey, I'm going to be conducting a series of phone interviews in the upcoming weeks for a radio show and was wondering if anyone knows what would be the best way I can record it directly into my computer to limit loss of quality... [ ie..us ] telephone(does this exist?) What do they usually use at radio shows to accomplish this? ..thanks for your help -Kalan

For radio shows it's probably being patched through a mixing board with a special phone of some sort.

If you've got an old 33.6 modem, some of them had a mic input and a headphone out so you could call with a headset. You could probably find a way to record that or something.

No, it's fully illegal unless all parties involved are aware that it's being recorded or monitored. Police and govt. wiretap have to make a clicking sound every little while that both parties on the line can hear.

Canadian federal law requires one-party consent for telephone call recording

I used to record phone convo's with the phone/fax utility that comes with windows 95. I don't think it exists on XP but maybe on other versions of windows. You have to have a microphone for yourself though, the other person can just be on a regular phone. The quality of the recording was more than sufficient for something without music.

Yeah but as logn as you have a mic for ur computer and your phone hooked up to your computer you should be able to accomplish this with basic freeware.
