I known a couple of people with handguns, and they sure as hell weren't legally owned.. Anyone who says they legally have a handgun and are not cop/army guy are probably bullshitting... I think there are maybe 50 people in Canada who legally have a hand gun for self defence purposes.. Collectors don't count (they don't use their guns). Handguns are HEAVILY restricted...

Not surprisingly, most illegal handguns come from the US.. They get weed from us, we get firearms from them

i believe even posessing a silencer for a gun will get you an automatic "attempted murder"..

It's funny you guys would say stuff like that. My friends just bought a revolver smaller than my hand. It's not a sil;encer but it's basically the closes thing to it withough being one... oh yeah I forgot to mention the important part.. he bought it legally, at al legal place, with a legal canadian gun license.. which was obtained.. how? EASY. Anyone can get a fucking gun licence, and you CAN carry it around, as long as its concealed. All you need to get a gun license is a clean record and to pass a profficiency test (like if you were going fro a drivers license). Other than that you say you got robbed and you need it for self-defense. Not much questions asked. He was never in the army or teh police force. Although he was in military school as a kid, I don't think that counts.

I just prefer people's attitudes up here. I find there is alot less competition and we are a friendlier people. Compare all the statistics you want, it's all up to personal preference.

everyone in switzerland has guns but there is almost no gun violence there... It's more a violent culture that spawns violent acts

agreed 100%

Really, we should all take examples from northern Europe, they know how to run stuff. Just in general. In my opinion, but anyways numbers say a hella lot too.

Sooo, we're also better than the states cause we were a country formed on equality, who fought against slavery, while the states fought for it. That is really what made us two seperate enities no? In ways, the difference still shows today.

people collect guns,

i love guns. not the killing ones the pepsi can shooting ones.

other than cops and money agents, i have never seen someone in posession of a handgun (in canada).

shotguns and rilfes are not the same and cannot be easily concealed. besides the fact that carrying a gun around in public is illegal.

seen.

i wanna glock. and a shotgun. those things would be fun with a dead beat ass car.

that dude is bullshitting you.

i've confirmed this with actuall police officers that no civilians (other than private detetives) can carry any form of handgun around unless it's covered by a grandfather clause.

as for getting one, i've been to gun stores in montreal, to get a gun you must get a liscense, do to so you need to pass a certification where you show you know how to use it.

btw, just a response to those idiot 'americans' who say stupid things like "Canadians are wrong, if it's 'Canada' then they should be 'Canadans', since 'Canadians' are from 'Canadia'"..

you guys are idiots.

if we were following all the rules, then the term 'Americans' would apply to anyone living in North or South America; which would then mean that those living in the United States of America.. would then become "United Statians of America" ...
