The only positive thing is the day off. Plus, I always manage to find a friend who's left alone or doesn't feel like celebrating and I feel sorry for them in a way. What if you don't have any family here ? I mean, tagging along with a friend to their relatives party isn't like being part of the family. And I'm always left thinking of all those who can't afford to buy an X-Box for their kid brother for X-Mas. I do realize these peeps are poor the rest of the year too but Xmas just puts so much emphasis on materialism that you realize how much some people have a total lack of it. Or maybe I'm just too fucking conscientious for my own good. Hence the reason I need to get drunk on Xmas. Hmmm. And we come full circle. Nice. |
