uhhh, then why is it that the suicide rate in quebec is second highest IN THE WORLD.. ?

I dunno, I got that off of Statistics Canada, ask them. Probably cause it takes about a year to get an appointment with a good psychiatrist ;) One things for sure, most of us are very happy to be here, and a lot of us are crazy.

besides suicide and depression don't always go hand in hand. It takes a rare kind of person to do that, and most people diagnosed with depression don't really have it.

Known to some as "The Harvard of the North", McGill is well-known for its pioneering research in the medical sciences, chemistry, physics and biology. The university has among the highest entry standards in Canada and the United States and is famous for its undergraduate education. It has an established history in the humanities, social sciences, music, law, business and physical education.

Yeah but Harvard doesn't make Massachusetts a nice place to live, nor does it make the people who live in this state smarter than most. :)

24% of Quebecers have suffered from depression or anxiety trying to live their lives surrended by 76% of stupid people who are totally oblivious to their condictions ( most crazy people don't know they're crazy ). LOL !

We are not and never were at a lack of smart people. We might have a high drop-out rate but that doens't mean the population is stupid. We just have more people willing to do what they wanna do instead of what daddy told them.

And smart people being smart and all, the last thing they wanna become is a politician which leaves the province to still be run by a bunch of retarded monkeys on crack.

Also, I dunno where you're getting your info from on the Quebec economy but you are totally wrong.

According to who ? Statistics CANADA ? Don't mean to be paranoid here but media being what it is, I'm always weary of how EXACT such numbers are. You can be certain if information was collected by each province and made to be compared with their sister province(s), the results would be nowhere near the same. For example, Quebec would come up with it having the # 1 environmental-friendly companies compared to Ontario...and bizarrely, Saskatchewan would be #1 as well compared to Ontario.

It's like radio stations. They seem to ALL be " the number one radio station in Montreal ". So, on the list, you have 5 " number ones " and then the list skips to 6 and so on.

Erm, we are still part of Canada now and we are doing exactly that. Lifestyle isn't dictated by what country you're a part of or not.

If Quebec becomes a nation in itself, you think that's gonna stop or encourage people from wearing a suit & tie to work and smoke joints like crazy ?!?!? LOL ! I fail to see the logic behind this assumption.

Now, I don't have much of an opinon, backed up with facts to debate or dispute of how good or bad our provincial health care or system is, or how well our people in Quebec do in schools... or the quota of those who commit suicide from those that suffer from depression, compared to the other provinces.

However, if I can have one opinon to express, it is that Canada -like every other country- is fucked up, one way or another! Whether it is provinces wanting to seperate for their own political, or economical reasons; Canada as a whole is a great place to be. And Quebec, from all the places that i've been in the world and from all the opinons of people that i've met from around the world, say that it is the most laid back, chilled out mother-fucking-province, and that they all LOVE IT sincerely, despite the political or economical issues that "plague" it!

For better or for worse, I would prefer to have Quebec stay along side this country, and be the bitchy-whiners that we are -because as it is, Quebec, from my perspective in Alberta, is already its' own "place" and as terrible as the Quebec provincial government may be running things, Canada -without Quebec- wouldn't be the culturally and historically rich country that it is today.

*shrugs*

Why cause it's not private? That's a good thing sweety. It's funny that the Canadian government cares ten times more about McGill then any school anywhere else in Canada, I wonder why? Yeah, they're like McDonalds in that they own half of this fucking city and then some. They're like McDonalds in that any half-educated person knows who they are. You guys in Ontario are just getting the crappy scraps of McGill's funding.

and yes I did get the numbers from statistics CANADA. Yes they are accurate. It is a well known fact. If you honestly think the prairie provinces, maritimes or extreme north produces more income then Quebec you must have taken some coo-coo pills.
