COLUMBUS, Georgia (AP) -- A high school student was suspended for 10 days for refusing to end a cell phone call with his mother, a soldier serving in Iraq, school officials said.
The 10-day suspension was issued because Kevin Francois was "defiant and disorderly" and was imposed in lieu of an arrest, Spencer High School assistant principal Alfred Parham said. The confrontation Wednesday began after the 17-year-old junior got a call at lunchtime from his mother, Sgt. 1st Class Monique Bates, who left in January for a one-year tour with the 203rd Forward Support Battalion. Cell phones are allowed on campus but may not be used during school hours. When a teacher told him to hang up, he refused. He said he told the teacher, "This is my mom in Iraq. I'm not about to hang up on my mom." Parham said the teen's suspension was based on his reaction to the teacher's request. He said the teen used profanity when taken to the office. "Kevin got defiant and disorderly," Parham said. "When a kid becomes out of control like that they can either be arrested or suspended for 10 days. Now being that his mother is in Iraq, we're not trying to cause her any undue hardship; he was suspended for 10 days." |

I hope he takes his mom's guns and goes to kill all of them for defying his will.
I'm sure his mom'll stick by him. |

just because his mom is in the army doesnt mean he is a "gun toting maniac"
hes just a kid. and the fact that she is in the army doesnt neccessarily mean that she is for the war either o_o |

how many of those people were for the war when it was about to start?
just cause they're fickle and change their mind after the fact doesn't mean they're not to blame for starting the shit. and just so you know, i'm half american. |

Pretty much the people that were against it then, are against it now.. and NO.. the general population is not to blame. Was there a vote on the war with the whole US? no.. it was due to Bush and his cronies.. your half american? did u LIVE in the US? or was one of your parents just american? I lived in the US for 18 years. I have no problem admitting and talking about all the US's problems, because believe me there are alot. However.. I find it very annoying when people who talk about how ignorant americans are, are hypocrites by being just as ignorant with their comments of americans. You cannot fight ignorance with ignorance. For every stupid person in the US, there is also a smart person. People are not defined by their nationality. |

so because of the idiots that didnt vote, you blame EVERYONE? and u hear a story about a kid thats american and u automaticaly judge and assume things?
im sorry.. but thats not very intelligent sounding to me not to mention you didnt answer my question of whether or not you acutally lived in the States. the majority of friends relatives and people i am close to in the states, all are against the war and they are upset of the image it is projecting on them due to the stupidiy of the president. You can write to congress you can protest, you can do all you can do. It doesnt make sense to group 300 million people into the same catergory. |

let's do some math.
half voted. half of those voted for bush. add that up, 75% of americans are to blame for bush getting elected. you follow? |
