Wow, I have an Inspiron 8100 too!... But i need my battery, sorry... They go for 145$ from dell, try E-bay but watch out not to get one that doesn'y hold it's charge anymore...

I recommend plugging it into the wall using an extension cord.

Apparently, that recharges the battery, so I've heard. Fact or fiction ? You decide.

:)

You learn after thrashing 3 laptops once the battery drains out.

I dunno about you but my laptop battery is totally dead (if I unplug it it goes down right away) and the thing still works plugged in..

there are places that drain and refill your battary, there are methods to somewhat fixing a battary that doesnt hold charge anymore, Im just not familiar with it myself, but I've heard from reputable sources it can be done.
