more compatible?

as far as i'm concerned, now adobe has ZERO competition...... like seriously. macromedia was their arch nemesis..

exactly. so now the adobe software (i.e. Photoshop) will be more compatible with macromedia software (i.e. flash, or dreamweaver), making a lot of stuff a lot easier, instead of trying to make cheap replicas of each other's program to prevent each other to get too big

yeah adobe might cannabalize and eventually discontinue certain programs that used to compete with abobe ones, like dreamweaver.

When I first read this on slashdot I thought for a split second it said APPLE had bought macromedia. This gave my shivers when I thought of them doing the same thing they did with logic audio, make it mac only. Apple is like microsoft except with complete control of the hardware and a total fixed price system...

uhh, isn't that what photoshop is?

i mean, they merged imagestyler with it in version 6, seems like they're eventually gonna merge illustrator and imageready into it soon..

they should merge all their programs into one audio video editor with vectors and raster editing and animation and webdesign and sell it for 100000000$

dreamweaver is THE shit. golive bites. DW has its faults too tho. But its very flexable and with the right knowledge most of its problems can be avoided. Adobe hasnt got the slightest clue how to code html. Just look at how photoshop batches html image slideshow code. bleh.,
