No, I was thinking clearly.

If it wasn't for WW2, would we have had a need to research things as much as they were? No. We'd still be sitting at home watching television.

Look at airplanes. We went from the sopwith camel to the jets. Submarines were created, which have been used for research (albeit not as often as for war) Tons of medication was discovered. Calculators evolved into the early computers that were run with tubes and tapes.

Do a little history homework for yourself. (I don't really have a choice, I'm in a history class right now) Technological advances happen all the time, but happen even more and faster when we're in time of war. Shit, look at computers NOW! Sept. 11 we had what, 1.8 gig procesors as the highest? Now we're up to 3.56g with multi-threading. That's pretty fucking high. I'm also not 100% certain on the dates, but during the gulf war I seem to recall the jump from low end 386 to mid-level 486.

and that culling of the weak comment was refering to technology. I believe in the culling of the weak, but not through war. But that's a whole diffrent ballgame.

I’m having trouble figuring out how this works. Death and destruction, racism, sexism, bigotry (which I would associate with hate) are all somehow justified as long as we get better stuff. Could you elaborate?

Seriously you peoples are starting to scare me. I hope that me living never gets in the way of you peeps getting a better toaster or something.

put it this way
you work and live to better yourself, even if it's at the expense of others. It's called free market capatalism. The "raw & pure" form of capatalism.

I'm sorry but that statement is outdated. In the capitalist system the way to achieve the best result is for the individual to think of himself and the group. Its simple really if people only thinks of themselves then inevitable the individual will have resort to ‘’crushing’’ of others to achieve many things. Consorted competition is the way of modern capitalism. That way everybody wins.

What has sexism gotten us? A lot more rights and protections for people in offices. Death causes research into the method of death leads to a possible solution to stoping millions more from happening from, say, biological warfare.

As for the toaster thing, I wouldn't take it THAT far, unless Sanrio releases a Badtz Maru toaster and you happen to be trying to prevent me from buying it.
