| Lil' Kim's trial is over and the rapper, who is known for her outrageous behaviour and revealing clothing, is going to be toning it down for a while after being found guilty.
Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, was found guilty by a jury on three counts of perjury and one count of conspiracy that could see the self-proclaimed Queen Bee in prison for up to 20 years. She was acquitted of the most serious charge on her plate, obstruction of justice.
For now, Kim's free on bond until her sentencing on June 24.
Her assistant, Monique Dopwell, was also found guilty on perjury and conspiracy charges and faces 15 years in prison.
Kim's entire ordeal began in 2001 after a shootout between her posse and rival group Capone-N-Noreaga outside of New York's Hot 97 radio station.
Kim told the grand jury she didn't know if two of her associates were involved. Later evidence showed Kim and the two men together at the station, a fact witnesses confirmed.
Kim's defence was that she had no reason to protect the men, as she had cut off contact with them because they had been stealing from her.
The prosecutor said that Kim's defense was laughable and that Kim thought she was above the law.
Now the rapper, who started her career rapping with the late Notorious B.I.G., has to wait to see how long she'll spend behind bars. Since this is her first conviction, she probably won't be sentenced to the whole 20 years.
