I want to know if I have to panic properly for my exam next monday or not.

i don't really know what to tell you

as far as the university admin, is concerned:

Concordia University activities will proceed normally on March 16. This
means that all classes and labs, as well as administrative activities
will
proceed as scheduled.

Professors are being encouraged not to penalize students who do not
attend
classes, sit exams or submit papers on March 16.

Should a professor choose not to hold a class on March 16, he or she
will
be expected to make up the class content at a later date and where
possible inform the students of the cancellation of March 16 classes in
advance.
############

that being said

nobody is really sure what's going to happen on the 16th, some people are talking about picketing (i think this is lame), other people are talking about a sit in (somewhat better)

my idea was we all bring our bathing suits and have them turn on the sprinklers, we could have a sprinkler party.

to be honest i'll have more information probobly on monday...(meetings with people and stuff...)

remember Kut Off Kidz, we have to stay strong,

i believe that we should stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the french universities and cegeps

year after year we let the govenment push us back, we lose mile after mile of turf and still we fall

we must take a stand somewhere, we say "we stand here", and we will not be pushed back even one inch, 3 years ago it was wage stagnation, 2 years ago it was metro pass hikes, last year it was $5 a day daycare. This year it is this.
enough...

our lives are worth something and are not to be toyed with, at the whim of some plutocrat in quebec city,

as cliche as this may sound, we really do represent the future, we are the future, we will be the intelectuals, the artists, the scientists, the politicians and yes the philosphers...

if the future does in fact rest with us then why Mr Charest would you steal from us, forgive me i am naive and don not understand your grand vision.

just my thoughts on this

uhh, how is it your right to get free money?

if the government says it's ok to recieve free money, then yes, it is your right, if they change teh laws, then it no longer is your right.

uhh, did charest say he wasn't going to tamper with education?

what were his exact words? was it something like "we wont raise tuition" ? cause if it was, seems like he's not lying..

and it's NOBODY's right to get free money. free money is a priviledge. if it were a right, then this government would be instantaneously be thrown into bankrupsy cause every citizen in this country would claim that 'right'.

There are lots more bursaries and free schools in France, Germany,Great-Britain, Sweden, Norway, Spain...
Anyone who thinks its not a right as a Quebec resident can suck a huge cock. And its not free money, its taxpayers money, its a benefit for living in a good redistributionist society.

you're comparing QUEBEC to western europe?

Germany is fucked economically.
Sweden is over taxed.
France is in the same boat Germany is in.

France lowered it's 40 hour week to 35hours.
Do you know what that does to the productivity of a country? The government did it then realized soon after what a big mistake it had made.

Comparing Canada to europe is stupid. Their economy is crap, we'd like to try and keep ours above water..
