The few times I'd used Reason 2.5, it was only 3 CDs.. The Orkester soundbank was always a problem for me also, I seem to recall that they give you an option to install it, just say no and see how that works... (either way you should be out looking for your own samples, everyone with Reason has the soundbank that comes on the CD and stuff will just end up sounding like generic presets and defaults) |

you need to have the cds burned perfectly, and you can easily have just as many problems running reason on a mac as a PC so that is a stupid answer... It's even harder to find properly cracked versions of any software for apple. |

i've been having the same problems trying to install reason on my friends computer, i've 1 more thing to try next time we meet. if it works out i'll let you know what i did.
i've never had problems installing reason on mac.. but yeah, the mac-cracker people are nowhere near as fast at cracking difficult apps as the pc-folk. |

yeah ok i've just had very similar problems to what youre talking about......and i fixed it.
this is how it went, for me. 1st off, i've never heard of a fourth disc, and so i didnt have that one, whatever it may be. i had reason installed on my system by a friend a while back. everything was fine until one day i started playing around with my ram chips, trying to put more powerful ones in. after i had fucked with the system's hardware configurations, reason would not load up, and asked me to insert the orkester disc, which i did not have. then i found out that apparently, if you modify your hardware configurations, reason will detect that upon startup and if the configuration is different than when reason was installed, it wont load up unless you feed it the proper discs. so i borrowed the set of 3 discs from carlos (NOT the person who originally set me up with reason). first it asks you to insert the orkester disc (disc 2). it will accept disc 2 and immediately ask you to put in disc 3 (i forget the name....reason soundbank perhaps) then it will prompt you for a reg key. luckily the reg key, in this case, came with the cd's (copies not originals) i borrowed so i didnt have to use a key generator. anyways at first i was having some problems and it wouldnt load disc 2. but then i realized i had not put in the proper disc. i had put in disc 3 instead. the cd's i was using were not marked 1, 2, & 3. they were just marked with their names, as i recall, so there was some confusion. once i figured out which disc was #2 and which was #3 everything worked perfectly. it doesnt matter if you already have the factory soundbank installed on your system, it wont overwrite it or anything.. so yeah. theres 3 discs: the main install disc, the orkester disc, and the other disc whcih COULD be called reason soundbank (sorry i forget now)....its these last 2 that you have to fuck around with. if it doesnt accept and recognize one of them as disc 2, try the other. if neither works then borrow some one elses cd's. just dont shell out the cash, its so not worth it. copies are so readily available thru friends and whatnot that its a total waste of money. hope this helps. bong |

PS: i'm pretty sure that the 1st time you install reason and try to run it, it will ask you to put in disc 2, then 3, then a reg key. so thats not abnormal. when you think about it, it makes sense. you do a new install with some software and you usually have to enter a reg key to validate the shit so......... |
