hello. :)
i am planning on leaving for mexico in a couple of days, but i need to get more money before leaving. so what i am asking now is do any of you know of a way i could make money now? i don't have a job, i am just looking for someone who would hire me to do a job for this week. i am bilingual, i don't mind working hard, and when i do something i always find a way of having fun doing it... i just really need this money now, so any suggestion/idea is welcomed. thank you, :) |

i know this was to be expected. you people are so predictable. ;)
but, no, i am not open to prostitution. i have nothing against prople who do it, it's their choice... but i choose not to do it because i don't like the degrading picture of women as an objet de consommation that it creates, and i don't want to contribute into this. |

How long are you going for, and where?
Not counting room+board, I spent maybe 2000 peso's in 2 weeks there, max. That was in Ajijic and Guadalhara, but it depends where you go I guess. Have fun! |

i'm going there for at least 40 days, it's a tantra retreat. all i have to pay is the bus ticket to get there, but i want money to stay and visit after the 40 days. i'm not one to spend a lot, i learned how to make the most out of little things... but extra money is good to have, it helps. :) |

tantra retreat? free? hmmm.
be aware of cults. and over there, you can easly live with 15bucks a day. room and board included (if you're not too picky, that is). for money you can always throw a party, or sell beer to the drunks coming out of bars at 3am... |

cloak, why do you assume this tantra retreat is linked to scientology? i've been thinking about cults too, but it was the fearful voice inside me, and i don't like when fear speaks. |

the tantras will suck you in and never let you escape. You'll be forced to participate in their orgies. |

sweetie, how many times have you travelled in a to-be industrialized country by yourself?
without being fearful, there's being aware. my friend wasn't aware of things that could happen while travelling, well he got drugged, beat-up and robbed. as a young girl you face thousands of occasions that your awareness makes you escape, like walking alone at night in a city where there have been thousands of crimes reported. or having doubts when, in this society of money-makers, there is a free "tantra retreat" given. do you know those guys? come on... even rainbow hippies drive around in suv's, so tell me it's all about being rootsy and loving everyone blindly. i'm not saying "don't go!". i'm just warning you because you seem like a very innocent person. real life isn't only about shoveling clouds... |

i've never travelled to anywhere but canada and united states, but i won't be alone for this one. we are three really motivated friends who want to live an adventure, no matter where it leads us, we just have this hunger of the whole world that nothing but a trip like this can satisfy.
i am not scared of the world. i've been into a lot of fucked up or risky situations before, and i've lived on the streets for a couple of months too, and all that ever happened to me turned out good in the end. it always does, unless i die. but if i die, i won't know it, right? they can't hurt me unless i let them. and in case of emergency i know how to run really fast and hide. ;) i've got that celestine prophecy feeling, when thinking of this trip. :) |

Have fun and come back in one piece! Celestine Prophecy = great book. |

best of luck!
of course its good to be cautious, but there ARE plenty of religious/'spiritual' places around the world that offer free or very inexpensive training in various disciplines. plus this is tantra so whoever's organising it gets to have sex with all the participants. hell i'd organise it! |
