jumping out like a jack-in-a-box, broken toy bursts onto the scene with his rawkous debut self titled album. broken toy is the new alchemy secret weapon - throwing down the grooviest, hip shaking tunes that cut through the air sharper than hatori hanzo's finest blade. broken toy is james copeland, a 24 year old from cape town , south africa and this is his first power packed album on alchemy records. featuring nine tracks engineered to tease and tear any dancefloor apart, broken toy tells his own twisted tale. down and dirty, fantastically funky, interlaced with tribal beats, grindy guitar riffs, and a wicked sense of humour, broken toy pulls you in, spins you round and drops you on your head. from the haunting melodies of 'fragile', the ultrafunky tuneage of 'slaphead', to the four-to-the-floor rage of 'psycho bitches', simply put this album is overflowing with infectious grooves.broken toy has proved himself to be a true original - cutting his teeth as one time member of the infamous group damage, and with a string of successful single releases through 2004, this is his breakaway debut album. |
