[ www.msnbc.msn.com ] 50 000$ for a cat.

poignant quotes in the article.

---“He is identical. His personality is the same,” the woman told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. She spoke on condition of anonymity because she said she fears being targeted by groups opposed to cloning.

---“It’s morally problematic and a little reprehensible,” said David Magnus, co-director of the Center for Biomedical Ethics at Stanford University. “For $50,000, she could have provided homes for a lot of strays.”

---“The thing that many people do not realize is that the cloned cat is not the same as the original,” said Bonnie Beaver, a Texas A&M animal behaviorist who heads the American Veterinary Medical Association, which has no position on the issue. “It has a different personality. It has different life experiences. They want Fluffy, but it’s not Fluffy.”

I wonder if people would have qualms with eating cat-meat if they grew it in vats like people say that KFC chickens are "grown".

Someone should look into this. Could revolutionise the chinese food industry.

I know I'm off topic but KFC chicken is not grown people please.....I know it's not the healthiest thing to eat and all that but it's not grown. I know this girl who worked in a chicken slaugther house where they'd ship chicken to KFC. Remember that email that was going around about that and how KFC changed their names because they're not "allowed" to mention the word chicken anymore, not even in their adds....I dunno about you but they still mention the word chicken....so anyways a cloned cat is only cool if you think about it in a scientific way but 50 000$?! That bitch is retarded (or really REALLY rich) if she thinks that gets her her Fluffy back.....I bet she's old AND blond.

Wtv she said, I think she really spoke on condition of anonymity because she fears being targeted by groups who can think hahaha!

Oh, I know, it's just bullshit hippy propaganda. They are real live chickens and they get just as abused and miss-treated as the rest of the chickens shipped all over the world.

I was just saying that I'd be all up for growing meat in vats like that. It'd be cool to try, say, dog or cat, without actually having to kill the animal itself.
