exchange anything for a promise to vote (written or oral) is illegal, otherwise people would just give all the bums beers on election day for their votes... |

why would we need such weapons, who knows.. maybe they want to crack the earth in a bunch of little peices.. It's for the Aliens Silly. But yeah, as he put it: "I think," he said, "we need to get off this planet, because I'm afraid we're going to destroy it." That experiment they were talking about on containing a "Positronium" Atom sounds like an accident waiting to happen. |

nah, i remember watching something like that on discovery a couple years ago.. they're decades away from anything they could actually use as a weapon.. specially since they can never contain more than 0.00000001g of anti-matter for more than a few micro seconds.. |

There's nothing like fear to justif the making of huge bombs.
There's nothing like comfort to justify fear. There's nothing like our billion dollar industries who produce comfort good so that we can get comfortable and live in fear and help support making really deadly weapons. |

Anti-Matter was first produced at CERN's particle accelerator in the early 90's and continues to be produced - although instantly annihilated - as part of research into the Grand Unified Theory (GUT). Using it as a weapon is simply a matter of storing it in big enough quantities long enough to get it somewhere you don't like. When antimatter reacts with matter the two destroy each other completely and generate total conversion of mass to energy, which is, as they say, really fucking big.
And as for Michael Moore, I find it highly ironic that the Republicans, of all people, are charging someone with buying votes. I guess it's only illegal if the amount changing hands is under $1 million... which is fairly standard Republican fare, given that they don't really like ANYTHING that costs less than a million. Especially people. |
