| If someone would say to me that they are using drugs to get the truth: I'd laugh straight at their face. How can you get the truth from a material substance? The only thing you can find is how cruel life seems like from a addict's point of view. And believe me: it ain't pretty. People experience this after massive use of marijuana and start to create a slight paranoia-like symptoms during their trips.
So if their is something people want to get from drugs it's escape. Going to the nearest bar on a Sunday night wishing you can stay there all night when you know you gotta go in the next morning to work. Going with your friends to smoke a joint on a friday night after a "long" school week. Taking a cigarette when you're stress levels are about to blow out of control. Taking your legit drugs after an accident is to escape from the agony of the pain. Taking your morning coffee to escape the signals your body is sending you that it needs a break and more rest...
I can go on and on... these are all drugs that create escape for one reason or an other.
Can we live without these drugs? Most probably yes. But one things for certain: I'd prefer finding the truth while listenning to music or mixing with a nice cold beer than sitting on a sofa just staring at my friends with bloodshot eyes. |
