The Crtc Are A Bunch Of Morons...

| Ok... Months ago, RAI, the Italian television station, tried to get a permit to broadcast in Canada. They were refused. Even after more than 250,000 people signed a petition to have the refusal overturned and after 5,000 angry Italo-Canadians marched to Parliament Hill to protest. Then, a week ago, the CRTC revoked CHOI FM's radio broadcasting license because one of the shows' hosts insulted the former mayoress of Quebec... oh and because they said he was supopsedly "racist." Now (this is the killer) the CRTC have approved the Al-Jazeera network to be broadcast on cable television 24 hours a day in Canada. For those of you who don't know, Al-Jazeera is a Qatar-based 24-hour news channel that frequently receives messages and videos from Al-Qaeda leaders and other prominent terrorists. It is often called the CNN of the middle east. Before the CRTC even approved the broadcast license, they had received complaints from numerous groups, saying that Al-Jazeera was very biased and anti-semitic. Once approved, the CRTC placed restrictions on the network; it has to be played on a delay, and entire segments of shows and entire shows must be blacked out due to racist content. Also, all broadcast must be videotaped and kept for a certain amount of time, in the case of a complaint!! How do these people make any sense??
First they refuse the broadcast license to a network that counts 470,000 Canadians as a fan-base. Second, they revoke the license of THE MOST LISTENED TO RADIO SHOW IN QUEBEC HISTORY. Third, they approve a network that generated complaints before it was even approved!!
