 Coolness: 277150 | haha. Pat (error-ize) first got me to post. I had an account but I only ever came on the site for the calendar. I remember the site back then too.. I think we were the only people who posted, cept for Jackie, too busy with technodium I guess ;)
There was also Nny who was me and pats friend from school, this gumby guy who turned out to be some little innocent kid. There was also sarah.. I dont remember her name..I think it was skittles something. She actually came back..Then left again. There was also patty, little sarah and scotty p. The threads were so different back then.. they never lasted for 3 pages..it would be weird if a thread was more then one page. *sigh* Its weird how things change.. Its funny I said this to Pat just on saturday but its true. |

 Coolness: 149745 | first of all, this thread mirrors the kinda fucked up nostalgic mood i'm in today.
on the other hand, i only discovered ravewave in late 2000, maybe 2001, when i first starting promoting events and shit, and figured it would help. thru boards like ravewave and memf, i ended up meeting lotsa great peeps who over the years have become some of my closest friends. like many of the original members of this board, the vast majority of my longtime friends (highschool friends, neighbourhood friends from when i was growin' up) no longer go out to parties, no longer have any interest in things like DJing, or weird-ass music, have jobs, wives, houses, mortgages, and all sorts of shit. it's fucked up. I'm in a really fucked mood today for some reason (tooo much beach boys, perhaps)... but when i started partying there was virtually no such thing as the internet -or at least not to me and my circle of friends. who knows what that means for today's scene.. i think it allows for the creation of sub-families, larger groups of people working off the beaten path, attending parties that are cheaper to promote, and can therefore afford to be riskier, innovative, and present sights and sounds that may not appeal to the lowest common denominator, parties for the fucking hardcore. anyways i'm totally insane today. don't know where i'm going with this. Maybe in ten years we'll all look back at TODAY, at what's going on now, and we'll be the participants in some great movement that ends up sweeping the globe. fuck shoot me in the head now...
