to be in love with your own music?
In the past week I have been overproductive with music and I have finally been able to create my idealistic type of music. |

yes and no...
yes cause you love what you're doing and you should keep doing it cause you love what you do (in theory). and no because you might get sick of repetive stuff that happen in your life... but hey, that's how I see life. |

only as wrong as drinking bottled urine you've been saving since 1990... my friend is saving "smegma", he wants to create a new flavor of ice cream. The future is our. |

I've been listening to my remix of Children non-stop for a solid week. It's like all of a sudden I've hit a new peak in my production that I didn't know I was able to get at. |

Smegma...Nasty...and very funny!
I produce music I like. Simple as that. I don't care if anyone else likes it or not. It's great when they do, because then I can share with them, but it's not my point. I say you better love your own music, because you're the only one guaranteed to like it, and if you don't like it, why should anyone else? It's your expression. I love suprising myself. It's the best feeling ever. It's the point. |

I listen to my own music more than I listen to other people's music, but often it's to also critique what I did right and what can be improved. I also know that if I can listen to a song 100 times and not get sick of it, it will probably go over well with other people...
So yeah, I love my own music too, but I'm always trying to make it better. |

the only way to get better at it is to listen to your own stuff and see what you did wrong.
i listen to my own mixes over and over often simply to hear where i made mistakes.. |

yeah of course listening to your music to spot mistakes is good.. But if you do it listen to the same tune over and over, the hinsight effect become lesser and lesser and lesser.
I compare with painting. If I stay 3 hours straight looking and taking notes at my paints for details who are bugging the composition of the visual contact I over-analyze and finally will pass beside the real problem. If I paint, and i go out meeting friends, taking a walk or anything else that being in front of my paint, when I come back, at the first look I see the REAL mistakes...My step-father do the same thing with his master-control setup of his music (jazz, blues, trip-hop). |
