| beat counters are for n00bs. |
|
Coolness: 61530
| not really.
if you have the feature, you should use it.
It's like saying automatic cars are for newbies. pay alittle more and you don't have to shift gears.
anyways i was looking for something that can count upto 200 |

| Beat counters are almost 100% of the time inacurate, especially hardware, because it can't read ahead and evaluate what the real BPM of the track is. |

haha, they are for newbies.. i'd say the large majority of bad drivers who can't handle their car properly are automatic transmition drivers.. |

| depending on the use, bpm counters are for lezy ears.. or people that lack self confidence in themselves.. if you ask me, i'd say train your ears to be a good dj, dont rely on technology.. just in case you run into a mixer that doesn't have one.. ;) |
|
Coolness: 61530
| i can do it with my ears but sometimes theres no kick drum and the bpm counter really helps then |
|
Coolness: 340355
| bah, beatmatching without a kick is easy.. |
|
Coolness: 340355
| once i managed to beatmatch two tracks without even using the earphones.. i remember just looking at both VUs on the mixer and managed to line em up real nice like that.. man that was slick. |
|

| Who needs the kick to beatmatch? Bass frequencies travel a lot slower than mid/higs, the only thing you should be lining up are the snares and hats because you never hear the exact attack of the kick at the right moment. |

| i like it when records are mixed so loud i can beatmatch just listening to the groove |
|
Coolness: 201915
| Personally I'd rather someone use a beat counter if it means they have less of a chance of fucking up the mix but generally I find they don't work right anyway |
|
Coolness: 222455
| if we wouldn't be talking about beatmatching, your stupid thread would have been burried a long time ago.....
and Ian and Fred are right, you don't need a kick to beatmatch.. it does help, but i can beatmatch durring breakdown's if its not just a trance.. |
