Then you haven't had my father's homemade shit... he's been perfecting his grape mixture and fermentation process for the past 20 odd years... and oh yeah.. he has a proper celler in his basement for fermentation... and most cheap wines have additives dude... don't kid yourself.

the only thing you have to check on a bottle of french wine is whether it has the AOC label (appelation d'origine contrôlée). that's the only thing that guarantees you it's traditional and supposedly good wine. well this works only for french wine, though.

It's also good when used to lure rodents into devilish traps.

most countries will have their controlled regions (australia, spain, portugal, etc.) And in a couple years, im pretty sure most vinyards will have switched to screwtops. So much for ceremony =p

french AOC will never have anything but cork to close the bottles, i think. plastic and metal give unwanted additional taste ; and never talk to a genuine french cultivator about changing his traditional methods...

Actually.. they're trying that synthetic rubbery shit out apaprently... you still need a corkscrew to open it, but it doesn't flake apart like a cork.

a lot of non-AOC wines have been using this for years. it's just plastic trying to mimic cork, but i don't know if it actually changes the taste.

if so, i cant taste it. Since we're running out of cork trees, they gotta do something.

Generally speaking I find homemade italian wine is often quite shitty... homemade german or french is where it's at.

I'm eating a mccains frozen cake
