i dunno guys

i think using violence in the midst of a drunken rampage to provide constant fuel for seemingly endless ravewave threads is pretty damn funny. big up the underground. hahahaha

i can just picture that fucking st-laurent turd that got slapped, he'll never be the same. whenever he's about to utter some completely lame turd-ass comment, from now on and for ever, he'll always have this fear in the back of his mind that some psycho in a red sweater, some weirdo raver, is gonna pop out of nowhere and slap him in the fucking teeth. that's hilarious. if you girls could spend like a whole year doing that to all the fuckwad turds that wander downtown, preferably on saturday nights mind you, it would be a hell of a better world for everyone -people would think twice before they turded out.

well, other than the fact that it's called "RAVEOLUTIONS" and it's thrown by DESTINY, never mind the fact that it's in fucking TORONTO, no i don't have a problem with this thread, i just was wondering, innocently enough, how i could go about DELETING IT.

i dont know enough about French or Psyfreaks to figure out what the hell these people are talking about... or if Lost Island is even to blame (or anyone for that matter) but it certainly appears that Montreal psytrance promoters are getting a pretty weak rep internationally due to some skettttcch business.

i forgot something realllly important.

six lockdown flyers were ripped, apparently for filter paper... oddly enough, the Vibe Monkey's name was ripped off every single one. one witness described the coincidental use of a vibe monkey filter paper section from memory -nothing seemed intentional, nothing seemed amiss.. then why was every single filter paper, without exception, that was generated from the lockdown flyers, constructed with the Vibe Monkey's name? wtf is that? also... we found a tiny piece of paper that said "the vibe monkey" on it after the party, apparently a piece of a lockdown flyer destined for filter paper use but eventually discarded... so what's the deal? is someone ripping the vibe monkey's name OFF of the flyers intentionally? is this part of the ongoing battle against those tall-ass motherfuckers? or was this the work of a demented mandman intent on cooking up some farcical statement of irony, in order to shred our very brains, our very understanding of existence and chance as we know it. what the FUCK was that

well i'm glad most people seemed to have a good time, i was worried about the potential backlash from using such a fucking ghetto venue; but that's the only reason it was five bucks and all that shit -ya: washrooms suck, if i was a girl i prolly wouldn't go in there at all... also had some really bad sound problems that were completely beyond my control: for me that pissed me off more than anything... the CDJ problem also.. could've been avoided but i dunno it just gave kilobyte an impromptu 1/2 hour jam with naw and solo, which i thought was sick... so ya, this spot is fucking hot and grimy and dirty, sweaty, disgusting, a sweatbox, a shithole, and all that, but pefectly suited i thought for a completely ghetto concept event. bung. big thanks to everyone that helped out: Simon and the whole 141TP posse, my homeboys josh and denis, BIG THANKS to amalgam for havin' a phillips head screwdriver and a hell of a lot of patience.. big up to mindlab for some cool visuals (i was really enjoying the flavours for the first part of the night btw: visuals, naw, trip hop steez... not too hot yet)... thanks to addy for keepin the door closed, and to nter, for having a big mouth and being an insolent retard as always; and helping stamp some people.

nimi black market is also playing i dont know if you're familiar with his shit but it's also drum n bass, albeit darker and more experimental than stabba, a little crazier -drill'n'bass, break core styles -but in my opinion BM sounds like the REAAAL DnB shizzz for me, like 94 style fucking bomb ass beats...

and ya, the hope is that there's enough variety in music to a) keep people interested and b)expose peeps to shit they might not usually hear... and thereby try to OPEN YOUR MINDS a lil' and shhhhioooottttt..

lookin forward to this. also, as you may know already, spread the word, come early if you can, cause it's

coonest looking Elektra event is at Usine C actually on Thu Nov 13, the Granular Synthesis thingy -in my opinion

Christian Vogel at Aria will suck, cause he's the fucking worst DJ I've EVER seen in my LIFE (other than MAYBE DJ many from chicago -remember that carlos?) but honestly, from a technical standpoint Vogel was waaay worse than Many, he just played a cool track or two so anyways.. worst.

other than that, i dunno, haven't explored the program for the 2nd week of elektra.

ohya, anthony rother nov. 22nd? i think that might be at SAT.. i wanna hear that shiot.

was at SAT thur, fri and sat. this weekend. Plaid's visual dude took top prize in my opinion, 3 screens, really trippy visuals that were also movie like, telling a story almost at times.. and these dudes had a fucking robot arm with 2 cameras on it filming the plaid dudes as they tweaked knobs and shit.. a fucking robot arm, moving around and shit, controlled by the vj. madness.

Rechenzentrum took the top prize for their tunes, whereas plaid's set (also excellent) was basically a presentation of ten or a dozen individual tracks, rechzntrm actually had some sort of flow programmed into their live set -though individual tracks were still discernible there wasn;t a noticeable break, silence and blank screen btwen every track.

Vibert turned out the same typa shit as at the squarepusher night: using tractor or some sort of mp3 mixer and some effects on the master, playing retarded tracks from all over the spectrum: lotsa old school 94-95 hard DnB, old school acid tek and borderline hardcore, and even some of the jazzy, trip hop type shit that he makes (but unfortunately never seems to spin in his sets)..

so ya, a maaad weekend at SAT, big up

tore it up once again. mixing style not too tight, but working hard all night long, never slackin or taking breaks, working new tracks in quickly, fucking around with some juggling, a bit of scratching, and not too much pioneer effects.. big up to the variety siegling dropped, its not often i hear a so called "tek" DJ who has the nerve to play "the roof is on fire" and some other unidentified booty-ghetto style shit alongside straight tek & detroit shit, at a club like aria, was nice to hear.

big aria, big up jfl, and of course big up siegling

a) wicked show by Venetian Snares and Fishead, unfortunately was all that I heard... specially loved the intro Fishead, that dark, trippy, dial tone introversion, big up./

b) as a DJ that primarily beat matches and doesn't pretend to be able to scratch and juggle and shit much, i must say that ya, a dj like me ain't a musician so much as a critic.. pickin thru records, playing what i like to, tracks within a similar bpm range... ya it's a mad constricted form of expression and all that, but for me, beat matching is FUN... riding mixes is fun... endless sequences of looping beats rolling into each other is what's it's all about, for me, i don't care if other people like it, think it's art, or whatever, i just like mixing tracks, and that's the reason i'm a DJ -personal enjoyment.
