I hate movies that you just watch with a big "wtf" going through your head. Like that House of a 1000 Corpses. Too wierd for words.

Mullholand Drive makes COMPLETE sence. The first half of the movie is a dream. It's the ideal life that the girl wants to be living. Then she wakes up and is back in her problems.

You people are too dense I swear.

Lost Highway is a Möbius strip. There is no end, there is no beginning, it just is. It's not suposed to make any sence other than being a loop.

i agree
mulholland Dr made sense to me and is one of my fave movies of all time
lost highway... havent seen it lately, but didnt make sense to me when i did.. all i know is that the open road is somehow a symbol of consciousness and reality slipping into madness.. how it all ties in i really dont know; should watch it again soon i guess, i have it on cd.

yeah, lost highway is pretty obvious after the 2nd or 3rd time i watched it. near the beggining of the movie, the 2 cops are talking about a man who killed his wife and blocked it out of his mind cuz he was so traumatized, suttley foreshadowing what is to come. Fred is right about the mobious, the film never ends cuz it starts where it begins.
"Dick Laurent is dead"
Mulholland Drive is a bit more of a puzzling satire of hollywood's saught after fame. yet carries a different meaning to each viewer.
RULE 1 of david lynch : the owls are not what they seem,
RULE 2 of david lynch : approx., halfway through most of his works, there is an eerie blue light coinciding with a major swap of charachter roles. as in Mulholland dr. Lost Highway, Blue Velvet Twin Peaks etc.
RULE 3 of david lynch : red curtains, strange telephone calls and midgets are cool~

if the only point to the movie was to be a mobius, than that's pretty gay, anyone can make a mobius movie. that's like making a song that can be played on loop forever without an end, nice concept but not mind blowing, and not worth 2 hours of my time watching a bunch of scenes that make no sense since actors are playing the rolls of more than one character, with actors switching into other ones for little/no reason.

The fact that the weirdness pisses people off just gives me another reason to like it.

if you find that slow you should watch david lynch's new web-mini-series "The Rabbits"
it consists of a cheap set, one camera angle and a familly of 3 people wearing creepy bunny masks with lots of strange shadows.
it's the scarriest shit. they'll be no dialog for minutes, just the distant sound of rain and trainwhistles followed by one of them asking what time it is, followed by a laugh-track. The Script Dialog is all chopped up and placed in a random order. "something is Wrong"
this series scares me.

GENIUS!
