November 19, 2003 (Regina, Saskatchewan) — A Canadian man is filing an insurance claim for his stolen pot.
But it's not a case of the man smoking too much of his own dope. Provincial officials in Saskatchewan say the man may actually be reimbursed for the missing weed. The claimant is one of about 600 approved users of medical marijuana in Canada. The weed is supplied by the government health agency. One official says the pot insurance claim is a first. But he adds if the marijuana is an approved drug, its theft would be covered like any other prescription. Copyright 2003 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
