like Mulroney .... that fool.... Unless Martin pulls a stupid move like Mulroney, the Liberals will keep winning elections for a loooooong time.

Also, regardless of WHO the French vote for, their system is still democratic...

Also, as much as I hate Americans, I find it unfair to lump them all together as such... I completely agree with Alex on the point of hating, well strongly disagreeing with and/or strongly disliking (hate is a strong word) any people who blindly follow a leader (like Israel also, (and wow, Alex, that side note you worte about being anti-Israel was beautiful for its truth)).... anyhoo... im up too early for my own good so my thoughts arent gathered properly... ill think this through and re-reply later

Oh man...I am not going to get into it because I am supposed to remain diplomatic under all circumstances, but you guys are WAY off on so much of what you are saying. Check your facts carefully. Don't believe micheal more and the ultra left wing rhetoric many of you sunscribe to. Talk about following a leader without thinking.

Pick up some political science journals and learn about what the United States has actually done. Sure we have made some mistakes but the world is a much safer and better place because of some of the iniatives taken by the American ggovernment and people.

Canada could not survive without the support of America. The Canadian economy would crumble.

bible is a fallacy. So i wouldn't speak much of it's stories as grounds for political backing.

"But for the most part, I do not like americans and I'd rather not have them in our country, plaguing us with their nonsense."

yeah, sound like something a dictator says before he begins his 'ethnic cleansing'.

You like it when seperatists tell you (if you're english) to leave quebec? You're saying americans shouldn't be in canada? maybe you should go back and finish highschool alex.

manhattan is fun to go a fwe times, but when you got 3-4 times a year it gets pretty boring. 7 hour drive is too freakin long.

The US has not made the world safer at all. Its done the exact opposite. Sure, US based charity organizations help, but not the US government. The US government can't even help its own country, let alone another one at this point.

I will admit though, the US had three good presidents, Lincon, JFK, and Clinton. Lincoln for fighting slavery, JFK for scientific exploration, and Clinton for so very close coming to a middle east peace plan, and his excellent handling of the bosnia war.

But that doesn't make up for the rest of US's modern history. Can you think of any war in the past 63 years that the US fought for the good of the world (not including the bosnia war). None. They were all fought for the good of the US. Why do you think the US attacked Iraq and not North Korea, even though North Korea poses a credible threat? Because Iraq is more strategic. From Iraq, the US can launch wars against the rest of the middle east and make the US look more popular to the arab people since the arab people never really liked Iraq anyways (but that backfired obviously).
