Yeah, Dead Space was also on the list of upcoming zombie-ish games.

Just check out the gameplay info on Wikipedia : [ en.wikipedia.org ]

The players must fight their way through various levels of a stricken mining ship, which has been infested with an alien species known as the 'Necromorphs'. The game features an 'over the shoulder' third-person perspective, similar to games such as Resident Evil 4 and Gears of War. The interface does not feature a traditional 'heads up display'. Instead, information is relayed to the player via lights and translucent screens which hover over Isaac's weapons and armor.

The player will encounter weightless and decompressed environments ( holy crap ? Zero G in a Third Person Shooter ? WIN ! ), which Isaac can navigate using a pressurized suit equipped with magnetic boots. Some levels will even lead out onto the surface of the ship's hull ( DAYM ! ). Floating debris will present a hazard, and Isaac can lose his footing and simply float off into space. In keeping with Isaac's profession as an engineer rather than a soldier, weapons in the game are mostly improvised, and consist of an array of bolt cutters, stasis guns and rudimentary energy weapons ( and I read that apparently, he creates a laser cutter at one point in the game that cuts through necromorphs like butter. I can't wait to play and go " you don't need that arm, right ? Limping on that right leg ? Let me help you with that ". Awesomesauceness. )

Combat in the game is complicated by the fact that Necromorphs are not simply rendered 'dead' after a certain number of rounds have been fired at them. Rather, they can adopt new stances and tactics, and even sprout new limbs ( ZOMG ! ), based upon where they have been wounded. Hence, the player must find and exploit specific weak points. The game's Executive Producer, Glen Schofield, has said that 'the primary theme of Dead Space is dismemberment' ( YES ! ), and early previews of the game have noted the high levels of gore ( YYYYEEESSS ! )

Yeah, that looks off the mofo hook !

yeah, from what's been going on in the comics, it's looking to be really fucked up as hell.. The story is really twisted.. something dealing with a monolith that's found on the planet by a mining colony, and it's description matches that of this super-holy monolith that some new earth relegion believes in, only it's a different colour.. People stop sleeping, have weird nightmares, some go totally insane.. Then there's mass suicides of all the people who believe in the religion..
I'm feeling fucking horny right now..

Finally, an engaging story. I can't find anything better in a video game than to dismember the religion-crazed undead.
