yeah, the movie is a little bit wack at points.. It's really not a movie that's made for anyone who isn't a fan of the Silent Hill games to watch. They explain bits and pieces of things, but a lot that you need to know/understand to really "get" the movie, you need to have aquired the knowledge from learning about the town and it's history through at least the 1st and 3rd game (and I really recomend the 3rd one, one of the best games out there for atmosphere)

But yeah, explaining the story is massive fail in the movie.. But visualy, a hell of a lot of the scenes are really shot almost exactly as if you were playing the game, which is kinda cool.

Also, that cop chick is fucking HOT.

yeah, the soundtrack in it is really good.. 90% of it is music from the first 3 games, and the rest is done by the composers of the scores for the game, so it really works nicely together.

They made Silent Hill 2 and 3 for PC (4 is totally not worth bothering with, it blows hardcore), you should check them out.. Silent Hill 2 is more like the "traditional" Silent Hill, in that there's a lot of walking through the abandoned town, but the story isn't really connected with the "main" story from Silent Hill 1.. Silent Hill 3 has next to no wandering through the town, but it's got the superior graphics and gameplay (even though they're both really similar..).. SH3 is the one that's slightly more fucked up in imagery..

Totally great games.

I've got 'em both, and you can torrent 'em no problem.. I love them.. I just wish there was more walking through Silent Hill in the 3rd one.. It's all that was missing to make it the perfect game!

Meh. I don't really care. I haven't played a game lately that has creeped me out. It's as if I've become desensitized to the genre.

I find the lack of an engaging and dementedly twisted storyline in games of the Silent Hill genre disconcerting. I want to play a game that messed with my mind, not just pit me against grossly deformed monsters.

One that really hit the spot a while back was Eternal Darkness : Sanity's Requiem for the Gamecube : [ www.gamespot.com ]

Totally messes with your mind and shows you stuff as if you were hallucinating. THAT game was awesome.

Everyone keeps talking about that game.. I really need to get a gamecube for that..

I haven't found a good, creepy game in a long time.. I just really love the atmosphere in the Silent Hill games.. Someone needs to make a multi-player zombie-themed survival horror in the same vein as Silent Hill. It would rule.

Oh. Well, I'm presuming they'll release a console version of this. They HAVE too. There are going to release a few zombie games on the PC soon. I have an edition of the PC Gamer magazine targeted at zombie games so there were at least 5 new titles announced on there, including Left 4 Dead.

Hopefully, they'll be ported to console as well.

I heard the Elites were noisy as all Hell and became as hot as a supernova apparently. I wish someone could confirm that though. : /

Other way around, actually. The Elites have the 45nm processors, so they don't heat up as much and require less cooling. They've also got built-in HDMI

Man, Eternal Darkness was the only Lovecraftian Resident Evil clone to do justice to Cthulhu-esque monsters. So good.
