This, I have a problem with.

Humans didn't start shit. Problems happened before humans started polluting. HOWEVER, yeah, we've fucked it up even worse. It doesn't matter exactly why or how the planet is damaged: the important part is finding ways to heal it. We can ask questions later.
I'm feeling 'sploded right now..

Oy, I didn't mean stopping naturally occuring things. :)
Climate naturally changes, with the solar cycle and stuffs. Meteorites, volcanoes, ice eras, etc... That always happened.
And some species appear and disappear over time, evolving to adapt to the climate.
That's ok, even if it's shitty for the disappearing species lol.

But the thing is that humans are starting to have too big an impact on the environment, and I find it wrong...
Who are we to destroy other species? I mean, it's ok to kill what we need to eat, but changing the whole system or eliminating a whole specie is a bit too much.
We are part of that system, and everything is linked... so whatever we do affects us eventually.

I would mind less if Specie X disappears because the climate changed naturally than Specie X disappearing because we changed the climate...
I'm feeling ferocious right now..

But what about Dinosaurs? Or all the mammals, birds, sea life and plants that were extinct at one point or another prior to human life? Not all of it had to do with the climate changing; are we to so vehemently blame asteroids now? How about the links between apes and humans? Most have died by the hands or their "evolution". Are we to blame ourselves for that too?

I don't mean to get on your case, Aerial. Know that I feel the same way about the Earth going bonkers. My point is, most people seem to spend most of their time guilt-tripping other people for merely existing, rather than taking action. And it's gotten to the point where it's an automatism.

Now, I'm well aware that big polluting companies won't start being eco-friendly just like that. However, I think they'd be more inclined to do so if every little person was doing his or her part and they were the only ones left not doing it. Saving face is a bigger incentive than name-calling.

Going back on topic (sorry for going off like that), I fear the decline of my cognitive functions. I feel myself getting stupider by the day.

***But what about Dinosaurs? Or all the mammals, birds, sea life and plants that were extinct at one point or another prior to human life?***

Hmm, maybe I didn't express myself too clearly... (i thought it was clear, but i'm often wrong on that point lol, can't express my thoughts proprely)

I said I didn't mind too much about naturally occuring things... We can't change the universe.
I think what bugs me the most is that lots of humans think they don't belong to the ecosystem. Like, they're above it or something.
"We are not animals", I've heard that often. -__- (what are we then? plants? bacterias? shrooms?)

They don't realise that if they destroy something, it will harm them also. They only think about money.
And that freaks me out, because I don't really understand how can a specie have such a big opinion of themselves so that they think they're independant from Earth...

I just don't want silly humans to take away the -40s in winter... :'(
I love my -40s, everything is so silent and crisp...

No, see, I think I didn't make myself clear. Humans and pollutions and all that ARE part of the ecosystem. They are one of the MANY situations that can fuck the world. What I'm trying to say is that instead of building Man as being this inherently evil impersonation, let's see this as simple maths:

There are a million possibilities how the world can go wrong. We can fix some of that. All it needs is convincing. It doesn't matter HOW it's fucked. What matters is how to fix it.

As for the dinosaurs thing, I was thinking about the methane produced by dinosaurs which was sufficient to alter the temperature and kill lesser species. Do you see a similarity with humans with cars? I'm not justifying the pollution, nor the senseless overuse of our resources: I'm saying, yes, we know all of this. Let's stop pointing the finger and instead, do something about it. Like, right now.
