 Coolness: 66770 | YOU CAN NOT J-WALK IN TORONTO. You know, the art of crossing a street somewhere where you aren't allowd to? Not only is it enforced, BUT IT'S JUST NEAR FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE. You try to j-walk, you'll notice the traffic veer towards your general direction. I saw some brave torontonians attempt to j-walk but I dunno, I didn't have the guts. So I waited patiently for the little white guy to show up on the street light informing me I can walk. At least in new york city, they give you a chance and honk before attempting to run you over.
THERE ARE NO DAGWOODS RESTURANTS IN TORONTO. Infact, I don't even think there are any dagwoods anywhere but Quebec. Dagwoods is the superior sub sandwich resturant. Much more enjoyable then Subways, which Toronto has plenty of. NEW YORK CITY STYLE SUBWAY STATION ENTRANCES. This bothers me a lot. Those stairways into a smelly hell in the middle of a fucking sidewalk. It blocks sidewalk traffic and they are ugly looking. Montreal has actual buildings for stations, that you can wait in for a bus. ALMOST NO BUS SHELTERS IN TORONTO. Almost all downtown city stops have bus shelters or a building vestibule in which you can stand in to get away from elements. Toronto lacks this. TURNING RIGHT ON RED LIGHTS. Whoever came up with this idea must've been either a murderer or a suicidal pedestrian. Of course, me being not used to this, I stood at the corner for a long time waiting for traffic to pass, not realizing that it was ok for me to walk into moving traffic. as for the jay walking, you just have to learn the art of dodging cars. you get used to it. Yes subway entrances are bit yucky but they do the trick. Even though buildings would be better, it is hard to put up buildings on street corners in the middle of busy down town. We just got a whole bunch of new bus stops downtown. They are quite spiffy. I dont know what part of downtown you were at but most stops downtown have shelters. Turning right on red is a GOOD thing cause then you dont have to wait. People are used to it so deaths are minimal. |

That is to be expected in a city this size. I really only stay here for school and hullabaloo. hihihi. And the fact i dont speak french, yet.
