A CASE OF OVERREACTION

Re the Conway police shooting Charlie the drug dog: Stupid, stupid, stupid!
What kind of coordination on the part of the Conway police and the state
police was made that permitted such a thing to happen? Why wasn't the dog
wearing a vest with the word "Police" plainly printed on it?

And another point. Am I to expect that if the police roll into my yard and
my dog is in sight, just shoot him?

According to an article I read, the dog was friendly and not a threat to the
police.

I think this is just another case of trigger-happy police eager to shoot
someone or something. If you think this mentality doesn't exist, let me tell
you what I witnessed.

I was in a police station--it wasn't in this location or even in this
state--reporting a stolen billfold and I overheard one officer tell another
about an incident involving a man at the front door of his house. While I
didn't get the details of what it was all about, I did hear this very
plainly: "I thought I was going to get to blow him away."
