2 ARRESTED AFTER OFFICERS FIND MARIJUANA LAB

Rio - Two Columbia County men were arrested after authorities found a
suspected lab used to to process wild marijuana.

The two men, ages 40 and 46, were arrested after authorities received an
anonymous tip and search their home in the Town of Lowville, said Sheriff's
Lt. Wayne Smith.

Smith said authorities found a lab in the garage that they believe was used
to make "hash oil" by processing wild marijuana, also known as "ditch
weed." Hash oil has a concentrated amount of THC, the active ingredient in
marijuana. The oil can be placed on other cigarettes for an increased high,
he said.

Smith said this appears to be the first suspected hash oil lab found in
south-central Wisconsin.

The two men are expected to be formally charged today.
