| Also, yeah, whatever happened to doing things just because you like how they look? Do you wear certain pairs of pants to fit in with certain crowds of people? Do you have deep spiritual beliefs closely tied to the shirts you wear? Are you emotionaly attatched to your socks and underwear?
People get tatoos because of religious/spiritual beliefs. People get pircings/scarifiication done because of religious/spiritual beliefs.
People ALSO get tatoos because they see this BAD-ASS design that looks SO FUCKING COOL that they have to have it. People get piercings and scars because THEY LIKE HOW THEY LOOK!
Holy shit! Now there's a concept! SOME THINGS IN LIFE HAVE NO MEANING TO CERTAIN PEOPLE OTHER THAN THEY LIKE HOW THOSE THINGS LOOK!
