The problem was that although this was interesting they couldn't figure out who or what they were so angry about, beyond vague ideas of 'burning Babylon down'. This has seemed to fade especially with the coming of dubstep, which doesn't have a philosophy at all and never will because it's the music of nihilism (both culturally and stylistically). It really is the music of people who don't believe in anything and don't want to believe in anything. what was and is still fascinating is the lesser known step child of PLUR, that is the notion of 'keeping it real' which i believe could have and still can be the philosophy of the rave scene. If you want to write a project for school on something rave related write it on that. no one tried to articulate another philosophy? psytrance. |
