never published since his show was cancelled. EXCLUSIVE SHIT. the Hacker was NOT very talkative.

(* denotes steve lalla's question)

*You've gained renown as both a techno and electro producer, what can we expect to hear in your DJ set?

techno & electro

*Many of your productions incorporate samples of earlier recordings. Is it difficult to license these samples?

which records are you talking about ? on my whole productions i think i used 2 or 3 samples (and it was noises or rythm elements), using loops from other people is not my policy, so i don't have problems with licensing

*Do you feel that sample-based music is linked to DJing, and playing the music of other people?

it could be, but there is so many ways to use a sample

*Do you consider yourself first and foremost an artist, or an entertainer?

i don't want to sound too pretentious , but i prefer to be considered as an artist

*What type of set-up do you use? standard two turntables? Do you employ any samplers, final scratch or anything?

standard set up

*Do you also play live shows ever?

we used to with miss kittin, but not any more

*You played in Montreal with Miss Kittin at the SAT. Any impressions of our city's scene? People?

we had a very good experience, people were really nice with us, this show in montreal was one of the highlights of the tour.

*Through your work with Miss Kittin you not only became well-known, but also become associated with the "electro-clash" movement.. how do you feel about this? do you consider yourself a proponent of electroclash?

i don't know and i don't really care, "electroclash "is just a word overhyped by the media to put a lot of artist in the same basket, i think at the beguining this word was cool but now, it doesn't mean anything

*How old are you? When did you first become involved in electronic music, and how?

i'm 30, i started when i was 17 in a knid of new wave band, we sounded like a bad imitation of DAF

*Where do you see the future of vinyl, and the electronic music scene in general?

difficult, for the vinyl , i'm quite pessimist with this "final scratch" thing anf for the whole scene, i think it's going pretty well, time will tell...

*Tell me about your current and upcoming projects?

a new 12" on turbo (from montreal !!), and after that i will start to work on my next solo album for 2004 on my own label called "goodlife"
