pretensious tone ?? bahh, anyways..

whatever man, i couldn't give a flying fuck about software or there designers as i'm NOT IN THAT BUSINESS !! call it hypocritical, but i'm not a school or an enterprise (you know, the actual CLIENTS that would purchase software for COMMERCIAL USE) so i don't have to support it. i, however, didn't say it was "cool" or "right" to use that software, i wrote "i DOUBT ANYONE (not me)" buy's WinXP.

the argument was about buying MP3's VS downloading them from torret sites WITH THE INTENTION TO USE THEM FOR COMMERCIAL USE

AND

Buying or using cracked MUSIC SOFTWARE to produce music FOR COMMERCIAL USE.

i said i was against both idea's, being INVOLVED IN THE MUSIC COMMUNITY !!!

no ?? if you want to start another discussion related to non-music software pirating, please start a new thread.
I'm feeling open for suggestions right now..

Idiot is a word derived from the Greek ἰδιώτης, idiōtēs ("person lacking professional skill," "a private citizen," "individual"), from ἴδιος, idios ("private," "one's own").[1] In Latin the word idiota ("ordinary person, layman") preceded the Late Latin meaning "uneducated or ignorant person."[2] Its modern meaning and form dates back to Middle English around the year 1300, from the Old French idiote ("uneducated or ignorant person"). The related word idiocy dates to 1487 and may have been analogously modeled on the words prophet[3] and prophecy.[4][5] The word has cognates in many other languages.

it's about time you start reading man. the only part where i was actually referring to my own personal habits was with my statement that "i buy all my music".. the rest was "if i would" or "if i was".

i don't use software to make money for the 1000 time, hell, i don't even produce music that's worth selling. i have 1 release on beatport that i offered as a "bonus" track to one of my label's compilations.

really man, if you can't see how far you stepped out of line, not even mentionning how you publicly stated that i'm pretensious, then maybe we really should stop this discussion.

and BTW : what does my party have to do with anything ??? i'd like to mention that ALL staff, dj's, Vj's, deco artists + + + ALL get PAID for there services at my events, and they get paid more than what they are used to. just ask any Dj who's played at a Rewire party. So i think i have enough respect towards artists and Dj's while performing for a crowd for commercial use.

yeah, maybe i ate an olive at the super market without paying for it.. shoot me !!!

I guess the same applies for video-games, then, right? I mean, programers, level designers, testers, they all don't matter, it's just a "rich company" putting all this together.

Software takes as much of a tallent to put together as good music; be it a game, accounting software, an operating system, whatever.

Cutterhead: it's all about what you intend to do with what you want / need to buy. As a listener, artist's can't expect every listener to buy all there music just the same way microsoft can't expect every private user to buy licences (i have 1 license, for the record, that came with my laptop).

Now, if we get back to THIS topic, which was created by someone who, wants to start DJ'ing, obviously people will say that you have to purchase the music you SPIN regardless of if your a bedroom Dj or not because, well, one day, a bedroom dj's grows up and isn't a bedroom dj anymore. i doubt that, in the three month's prior to your first real gig, that you'd have time to run out and buy all those great tracks you downloaded in the past.

however, i highly doubt that one day i'll decide to start writing code and throw myself into the IT / software business.

does that make more sense ?
I'm feeling open for suggestions right now..

if its opensource, using is supporting,

plus you can buy your cds , export them as backup to dvds, and remix on dvdj deck, due to a legal slack on using backup for yourself and owning the originals.

i wasnt implying you to become an it, just more educated on avail ressources before getting lazy and just being a luzer , as we call them
