truckers are the best seriously, if you can get a ride to a truckstop that is on the way (best option in this case is the "flying j" in vaudreuil, between the 20 and the 40) then they bring you straight into ottawa or toronto for free, depending on where you want to go... just hang outside the little store with a sign that says "OTTAWA (please)" and eventually someone will pick you up. i've been doing this for a couple years now to go everywhere i want to, and truckers are a safe way, they never try anything because they know you can take their liscence plate in note and they would be in big trouble (losing their job, permit, big fines, etc...) the hard part of it is actually getting to the truckstop... also if you take the "train de banlieue" to Rigaud, you<re about halfway there you know ;) there is probably a bus doing Rigaud-Ottawa... i think that might be worth checking... |
