My roomie says that if it comes to it, they can come to our apartment (which is under his name) and take anything thats not nailed down, including those things that belong to me since it's his name on the lease.. in order to reslove a small bit of his debt.. Can they really take MY possessions?? I pay rent for my room and the items therein are mine not his.. |

 Coolness: 48500 | yeah baliffs can do pretty much anything they want. Take something thats worth lets say off the top o me head 2000 bucks while u only owe like 250. Even if its urs or not.
which reminds me. I gotta call my baliff. He's been lookin for me;) hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaha sucker O n i heard that unpaid tickets expire after awhile is this true? n also if i got the ticket before i became of legal age does this mean it is expired??? |

 Coolness: 59930 | If your loan is from the government, they can definetly send bailiffs. Bailiffs typically don't reposess stuff right away. First, they come to your house, take note of everything of value and estimate it's worth. Then, if you don't pay it within a week or two, they hold a public auction in your house, selling off your stuff until your debt is repaid.
It's rare though that they'll send bailiffs for student loans. They'd have to be severely delinquent. |

But seriously, my friend had this happen to him, he was living at his mom's old place temporarily and the baliff came in one day and took his computer a guitar, and his brand new TV... They auctionned the stuff off... Finally his mom fixed stuff up and he got some money back and sued for theft of intelectual property (stuff on the computers hard drive) (he's a writter) and he won!!! he made major $$$ with this fuckup!!! |

| Coolness: 229925 | LOL wow thats rough yet inspiring. I don't expect baliffs to come since my roomies pretty good at making minimum payment lol. Just wanted to see if it was true that my stuff could be taken note of and auctioned, that'd be pretty silly if it happened. |
