QUICK TEST WOULD RESOLVE ACCUSATION

This letter is in response to Dec. 12, 2002 article, Bus driver replaced
after girls think they smell pot.

I can understand the concern about the possibility that the bus driver was
under the influence. Tom Rust says "The driver will not be transporting
students until the investigation is completed."

Just because someone says that they THINK they smell pot, a man is taken
off his job. It takes less then a day to get the results back from a lab
for an urinalysis (UA).

That should clear him of being accused.

There are other possibilities here also, did they ever think it could have
been a student smoking it?

Another thing I realized is that the two girls that reported it should get
a UA also.

How do you even know what marijuana smells like unless you have used it, or
been around it? Don't the students in sports have to sign an agreement that
they will not use drugs and alcohol?

Editor's note: A drug test taken by the driver was negative and the driver
has been reinstated.
