TAKE AIM AT ECSTASY

The issue of New Jersey kids and Ecstasy is extremely important because,
according to the state chapter of the Association of American Pediatrics,
the use of Ecstasy is on the rise here. Ecstasy, prevalent in the rave
scene among teens and young adults, damages the brain's ability to produce
serotonin, a vital neurotransmitter responsible for memory and mood. This
increasingly popular drug should be of concern because of the damage it can
do to the brain and because of its rising popularity among young people
uninformed about its long-term effects.

Information about Ecstasy should be made available to kids. Information and
prevention programs could lower the use and raise awareness about this drug.
