JUSTICE FOR ALL?

EDITOR: I wish that money was not an excuse for everything, from neglecting
effective education, to health care, and to the defects in our criminal
justice system. Lately the latter has been in the news for a period of
time. Why are criminals and civil offenders all landing in the same crowded
jails?

An alcoholic or a drug addict is self-destructive, a criminal is a predator
preying on victims. Destroying yourself is vastly different from destroying
another person.

Even worse, why is the behavior of some guards so cruel, so humiliating? ...
