LEGALIZE MARIJUANA - THE TIME HAS COME

Beautiful and convincing article endorsing reasons to legalize
marijuana for adults by Joseph D. McNamara ("End the black market for
marijuana, San Jose's former police chief says," Insight, July 25).

Having grown up in a very stoned generation, I have never seen the big
deal about it and warned my children against alcohol and cigarettes
but not responsible use of marijuana.

It's just plain stupid to have anyone killed over it and to not have a
source of revenue for the state. As a medical aid, it helped my
brother more than anything else in his last few years of life. It's
time.
