ROCKWALL, Texas (AP) Rockwall County District Attorney Ray Sumrow
says he will take the NFL to court in an attempt to obtain the
results of a drug test that Baltimore Ravens running back Bam Morris
failed.

The former Texas Tech running back was suspended by the league for the first
four games of this season after the test revealed in January that he had used
alcohol.

The NFL refused earlier this week to voluntarily release the results to
Sumrow.

Sumrow said Thursday that consuming alcohol is a violation of Morris's
10year probation sentence he received in Rockwall County following his
arrest on March 26 for possession of more than 5 pounds of marijuana.

If it can be proved that Morris violated the probation, Sumrow could ask a
judge to revoke the probation and send Morris to prison for the entire
10year term.

Morris pleaded guilty last summer to possession of marijuana in an agreement
that included the dropping of a cocaine possession charge.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the test results are privileged under Texas
law since they are part of a voluntary substance abuse program.

Defense lawyer Jay Ethington of Dallas says the results of the drug test are
confidential because of an agreement between the NFL, the Players Association
and the substance abuse program.

A hearing on Sumrow's request for the records will be held within the next 10
days, Sumrow said Thursday.
