SEN. ROD GRAMS' SON PLEADS GUILTY

ANOKA, Minn. - The son of Sen. Rod Grams pleaded guilty Friday
to a misdemeanor marijuana charge.

Morgan Grams was stopped in July in a borrowed rental vehicle after
his father called the Anoka County sheriff for help finding his son. A
deputy found 10 bags of marijuana and several beer cans in the vehicle.

But Grams, 21, was not initially questioned about the items, leading
to questions about whether he had received special treatment because
of his father's position.

Grams was sentenced to four days he had already served and remains in
custody on a separate felony charge.

He is awaiting the chance to post $50,000 bail for testing positive
for cocaine and marijuana. He was charged last year with car theft,
check fraud and transaction card fraud. Under the terms of his release
on those charges, he was supposed to remain drug-free.

Grams was also charged in a vandalism incident at a convenience store
last month.
