30, INCLUDING 13-YEAR-OLD, ARRESTED IN RAID OF RAVE CLUB

CARROLWOOD - After a month of undercover work, investigators raided a rave
club Saturday morning and arrested 25 adults and five juveniles, including
a 13-year-old, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

The owner of club AV-O2, Elias Abusaid, was arrested in the sting. Abusaid,
37, of 11212 Elm Field Drive, Tampa, was charged with operating a rave club
without a permit, felony possession of a firearm and beverage violations.
On Saturday afternoon, he was release from jail on $8,250 bail.

Three handguns were found at the club at 5226 Gunn Highway. Deputies also
confiscated marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and GHB. Some of the people who
were arrested were charged with possession of cocaine, possession and
delivery of a controlled substance and sale of alcoholic beverages without
license.

About a month ago, the sheriff's office received complaints from neighbors
who said loud music from the club and from the car stereos parked in the
parking lot kept them awake through the night.

Residents said the club has been open for about six months. Beginning on
Wednesday, the club opens from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., bringing teenagers and
young adults.

"You can't sleep late on Saturday and Sunday morning because of the music
and the noise," said one resident who asked not to be named. "They play the
music so loud it rattles the windows. I am glad they finally did something
about it."
