MEDICINAL MARIJUANA TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OF BUREAUCRATS' RESISTANCE

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong ... but, I thought the Legislatureof
Hawai`i approved the use of medical marijuana, and the governor signed it
into law five months ago. I thought the purpose of the law was to
decriminalize the use of marijuana under certain medical conditions, to make
it possible for doctors to prescribe it and to make it cheaper for those who
choose to use it as part of their therapy.

Seven other states have implemented marijuana for medical use. ... Surely we
can find some way to implement this new law by looking at their example.
Oregon, in particular, seems to have found a way to make it work ... without
having patients register with the local Narcotics Enforcement Bureau. Would
you want to register with the cops?

I don't understand the resistance from the bureaucrats to implementing this
law simply and sanely. To them, I would say: Your job, my friends, is to
implement the will of the people...not subvert it. We need some leadership
from the governor and Legislature to get this law implemented.
