REPORT SOUGHT ABOUT DRUG INVESTIGATION

Manchester, N.H. Officials in Lowell, Mass., are demanding answers about a
New Hampshire drug investigation that was thwarted when an informant was
detained in their city on the day of a planned bust. New Hampshire State
Police say federal drug agents locked the unidentified informant in a room
in Lowell and told him he could earn more money if he lured the bust into
Massachusetts. The man escaped through an emergency door four hours later
and ran to a nearby parking lot, where New Hampshire authorities picked him
up. Lowell City Councilor Rita Mercier has asked for a full report of what
happened from her city's police department and the federal Drug Enforcement
