AUTHORITIES ISSUE WARNING ON RARE, LETHAL SUBSTANCE Nine pounds of a rare and potentially lethal drug found in a cabin led authorities to issue a public safety warning to anyone who might use the heroin-like drug. It could cause serious illness and death, said Sgt. Robert Wickum of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. A man and woman were arrested and could face federal charges for manufacturing the drug -- fentanyl -- which was found in its finished powder form when officers raided the cabin Monday, Wickum said. The street value was estimated at $435,000, he said. Both suspects could face federal charges because of the amount of finished fentanyl seized, Wickum said.
