DON'T WE HAVE ENOUGH TROUBLE WITH DRUGS? In November, Colorado voters approved an amendment authorizing the use of all illegal narcotic. Now I know that people feel deeply for those who will supposedly benefit from this narcotic (not approved by any medical research), but I have to say that they were blinded by the rhetoric. Now they have dug a deep hole that may be difficult to get out of. First, it's a federal offense to grow the stuff. Second, it's against the law to have it in your possession. Third, it's against the law for doctors to prescribe an illegal drug for use, and no amount of talk can change that. Fourth, who will administer its use? Fifth, who will grow the drug and how will the growers be monitored? So many questions and so few answers. What is wrong with the people of Colorado? Isn't there enough trouble with drugs in our country; did we have to go out and ask for more? Do people honestly believe that only those people who obtain prescriptions for medical marijuana will be the ones using it? Don't kid yourself. Others will take advantage of this new problem we have just approved. You, your kids, our grandkids and lots of others will reap this harvest. God help us. Jack Wedding Arvada
