My phone charger is broken, and now I can't turn on my phone... and.. and... I've got another person's ticket and ride to Wonderland tonight, and I need get into my phone to get their number and address!! They don't have internet.

My phone is a Telus ZTE phone.

*wahhh*

I'm going to feel really bad if I can't get a hold of my friend.

So if anyone has a charger that will fit my phone, could I please come by and use it for 10 mins at your place/metro/whatever?!

Dog food is just made from the stuff it's made of today because it's cheap, but the dogs are considered less important than humans so it's now common practice to feed them that stuff. Of course I don't think animals should be domesticated, they should be in the wild eating fresh whatever they eat. If you rescue a dog, feed it whatever you can afford... right now my cat roomie is still eating her byproduct stuff while I gradually switch it over to more healthy food (hopefully she will go for it).

I hope it works out with the dog, Mickos! Maybe it was just that he was young and needed tons of food while developing. Ask a vet though, it might be something more serious if they starts eating less. We often eat less if we're ill.

Unfortunately the vast majority of "pet" foods are made from byproducts and shit that they won't even put in human food. They cause a lot of diseases, cancers etc for companion animals. Maybe the dog just doesn't dig it.

Try to find a different brand of dog food with better ingredients? There are more companies who make more "natural" dog food now... try googling it. I'm sorry, I don't know much about dog food, just cat food. It might be more expensive but it would be better for the dog, and maybe it would be more appetizing to him?

We had planned a rave in conservative Calgary AB where we would roll up in front of city hall with a van, open the back doors and VOILA, sound system blasting!! and then about 200 of our friends would start dancing like mad to hardcore or whatever...

It would have a bigger impact in Calgary than Montreal, lol.

I try to avoid violence as much as possible. That poor guy. I remember when I didn't understand that things like this can actually happen in the same world as me. Now I know that it is all around us, every single day, and that we all contribute to it, most of the time without necessity. I don't really know how to deal with it emotionally so I think I've gone a little numb. Not apathetic, but numb. If I were apathetic I probably wouldn't try to stop myself from contributing to it.

Karma isn't a perfect equal thing, I think people just like to go on about karma to make themselves feel like there is more order/justice in the world than there is. Bad things happen to good people, good things happen to bad people. Sure, if you do something bad, it's more *likely* that something bad will come back to you, since you've put that negativity out there. That doesn't mean that it's going to come back for sure though.

Dieu est un vieux theorie scientifique. D'un temp quand nous avons savoir beaucoup moins de la planete/Terre. Je mis la reste en anglais parce que je veux faire un propre expression de mes penses:

God is an old scientific theory from a time where we knew much less about the Earth. Today, we still don't know everything, but we know enough, I think, to discount that theory. We can observe a circle of life. It reflects the circle of the universe. Personally I think the universe is most likely infinite, that each thing (living and non-living) creates the next, which creates the next... etc. It's a difficult concept for humans to understand because we're not infinite ourselves (by ourselves, I mean the physical collection of atoms that make us up as we are right now, which includes our mentations and emotions and everything that we are right now). Humans are not all-powerful all-knowing, neither is anything else, individually - so we can't completely understand concepts like infinity because it is something that is alien to our range of personal existence (some claim that we are infinitely reincarnated... OK, but I'm talking about the form we are in right NOW, that we actually know about. Unless you remember all your past lives through infinity, reincarnation does not apply in this case).

Until I see some hard evidence to prove any one theory on how the universe started, I will settle for understanding that I do not know for sure. There is no way that ANY of us could know. I'm fond of my theory about the continual expansion and contraction of the universe based on dense matter that is too dense to stay together for long, and anti-gravity, creating a sort of graduated explosion that resembles the "big bang" theory. Partly because we actually DO know that the universe is still expanding. If it is still expanding, that means that it came from a center at some point. How dense was that center? Was that center too dense to stay together for long? There is a reason why there are simelar substances on many different planets, this is because we broke off from common places.

Did our universe contract *before* it expanded as it currently is expanding? Is this universe in a cycle, contracting and expanding through infinity? That's certainly what happens to stars. I think that is probably what happens with the entire universe.

...but until I have complete evidence, I can't say for sure that that's what is happening. I say "is happening" and not "what happened".

The bulk of humans are like an angry mob if they don't think they have the answers to everything. They need something to keep them pacified.

Instead of saying "God" for everything we don't understand, we can just say "We don't understand." Because really, accepting that you don't know the answer is much closer to the answer than patching it up with a fix-all word so that we can *pretend* we know some sort of answer.

Spirituality: Whatever someone feels or knows from spirituality, whatever concepts there are, it's still all a part of this physical reality, or science (I mean, science beyond the science we currently understand), or whatever term you would like to attach to it.. We just don't UNDERSTAND it so we call it spirituality. Whatever there is, it's all right here within our reality. At this point in time, we know that emotions come from chemical reactions in their brain. If you discount that it's like saying that the world is flat (which many people did for a long time even after it was discovered that the world was round, and like people today still think that most omega 3 comes from fish or that other animals - including insects - don't know pain even though they have all the necessary receptors for it and react to it like we do).

I'm a very sensitive person, and these sensations are all part of physical reality just like everything else. It's not separate. Even if I can't explain some of it with my own limited science right now, that doesn't mean it's not physical/from a different dimension.

No I just feel like there's no point in hiding it anymore and like there's no point in stopping myself from talking about injustices and conflicting ideals when I see them... i.e. thinking it's not OK to torture a cat for nothing, but then that it's OK to torture a cat or any other animal for nothing in another place...

I change through my life and certain posts here caused me to come out of my shell when it came to speaking my mind about these issues.

Everyone thinks their own opinions are the right ones, otherwise we'd have different opinions than the ones we have.

I actually want to understand why other people think the way they do, I like learning about different perspectives. Otherwise I would be the same person I was 10 years ago. Hmm I guess this isn't the right place to do it!

I don't believe that something being legal or the status quo makes it right. Laws and traditions are able to change over time.

I think that paying for unnecessary torture to happen is on the same level with doing the torture yourself. I think it holds the same amount of responsibility for the action. If a mob boss gets someone else to kill someone for them, I see the mob boss as just as much responsible for the death as the on who did the killing themselves.

We just try to separate ourselves from the responsibility for our actions. I think the world would can be a much better place, if we stop separating ourselves from our actions.

Oh really? What is it? Both include a lot of unnecessary and avoidable pain and suffering. If you actually care about helping me understand your point of view and having reasonable communication, you'd answer that with some thought instead of just resorting to personal attacks.

How exactly am I forcing my way of life onto others? As far as I'm aware, I'm sharing information.

So you have a problem with this shit? Well guess what? IT'S THEIR OWN PERSONAL CHOICE AND WHO ARE YOU TO TELL THEM NOT TO TORTURE THOSE CATS. You're just forcing yourselves and your own ways of life on those people!!! They have a RIGHT to torture those cats.

...That's basically what you keep telling me. Do you now understand the perspective I'm dealing with?

deadfunk -
* You respect me?
* It's been 2 months?
* of course I don't think vegans/vegetarians are better. I think they're making a much better choice... but that doesn't necessarily make someone a better person altogether. I'm not perfect just because I'm vegan. I care about everyone, but it doesn't mean I respect their choices.
* Do you respect the choice of the people who tortured those cats? It was their own personal choice, after all.
* I don't expect to turn everyone vegan, especially not you. but yes, talking about it and sharing information *does* help introduce the people who would be interested in it. I didn't come on here with that intent, the only reason I started speaking about it at all was actually because of Big_jo's post. So, thank you Big_jo.

Hose_One - why would you use cleaning products that torture animals (incl. cats/dogs) when there are many other products that do the same thing, that don't? How does that make sense, when you say you don't torture animals?
* Are you threatening me physically? If that's the case, unfortunately for you I'm not defenseless like the other victims of human violence.

version - LOL, well of course you can't completely eliminate your footprint, just minimize it as much as possible.

It's being decomposed by bacteria. It's what happens when we are tasting our food. The bacteria in our mouth is quickly decomposing it. Sometimes the different stages of decomposition give different flavors.. so we can have a series of pleasant (or unpleasant) flavors from one food instead of just one :)
