So what the original poster was saying is "keep the cycle of abuse going, we don't want later generations to forget how great it is to keep on abusing".

That's fucking retarded. Anybody who knows even the first thing about abuse will tell you that the last thing you want to do is become the abuser, even if it's in vengeance.

A tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye leaves the world toothless and blind.

Why do Quebecois people always say "smashed" potatoes? All we do is mash them, there's no smashing involved.

I like doing a Rosti from time to time. You take potatoes and run them through a grater, then rinse them well to get rid of excess starch. Drain that, put it in a big bowl and add sliced onions, egg, and garlic, a bunch of thyme, savory, rosemary, whatever you have handy, a bit of paprika, salt and pepper. Then you lay this mixture out very thinly in a pan of sizzling vegetable or olive oil and fry it up like a pancake. It's incredibly hard to flip but with practice it can be done. Serve, slice into wedges, dip that in lingonberry sauce or mayo. Fucking amazing.

Also if you don't want to wait for a potato to bake you can always nuke it for about 6 minutes in the microwave and then throw it in the broiler.

Ok well Skweee already has the most retarded name ever so I bet anything that's what blows up. Sounds like some sort of IDM lounge music, and I can't figure out why those guys need all that gear just in order to cut from one track to the next like that.

I think harder dubstep (as in more distorted) is going to become the trend, dancehall will start using grimier beats, and that hip hop is going to go soft. I also think that pop music will once again try to swallow subculture and will this time turn to breakbeats again.

DJ Nasty will become rich as hell and will help launch at least thirty more rappers' careers. But that's a given.

Wow Noah! I'm totally going to use this! I have to assign DNS servers all the time. How does it compare to the videotron dns? I've been using these:
24.200.241.37
24.201.245.77
24.200.243.189
They resolve really fast... how does yours compare?

If anyone's wondering, a DNS is a domain name server. It resolves domain names [ ] into IP addresses (192.168.0.1, etc). Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Hey Neko really lay off, the October Revolution came and went, and the gigantic corporations of today totally paid no heed. Or they did, but they managed to quell all that red dissent with trade blockades.

So now we have world-wide mega-conglomerates that run everything.

You know, there's only two options against that sort of power. Sink, or swim.

Either go luddite and say fuck tech, or say "ok, I'll learn this stuff, help people with it, and laugh at what a mess it all is". The latter is necessary to do tech support of any sort.

Windows 7 is way better than the previous Windows builds, and thank god because Vista is totally not fun to work with. If I have to guide another newbie through the Network and Sharing Center... well I inevitably do so I guess I'll do nothing. But yeah, with 7 at least this is a more streamlined process, without little windows popping up warning me not to touch.

Alex man.

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

You keep acting like an internet tough guy but you're sort of a douche. Why do you keep picking fights with people? Do you think that people will like you if you do? And why do you keep on pulling all this b.s. about coming from a tough neighbourhood? So did I, so did tons of other people, but you know what? We can actually control ourselves. It's nobody else's issue if you come from hard times so stop acting like a badman.

You're seriously in need of some anger management classes. You're already fucking going to court for being a violent dickweed with your extendable dildo there, in case anyone forgot, and now you think you can start shit with more people, eh...

Fuck man, I used to think you were ok but now I just think you're a fat piece of shit. Slow down on the chips and pop and stop smoking so much weed. You think everyone wants to fight you when they're just taking the piss, and then you don't even get off your fucking train of thought when it's clear that it's you who's made the mistake.

So act your age, man up and realize you just dissed someone decent for no good reason. He wouldn't bother with an idiot like you, you go for the throat immediately and start saying he's a bad DJ to top everything off, like you're some kind of superstar and your shit don't stink. That just sounds like jealousy. You wish you had got his radio spot and you didn't. So don't mix up your misunderstanding of what he typed on a fucking web forum with your narrow-minded opinions of him. You really have to choose your battles more wisely.

Or do you want to be know as some kind of totally unstable nutjob who can't take a single insult? If you gotta pull out the big guns every time you get dissed you're probably a total pussy on the inside.

Grow some internet balls. And then wash them, they smell like shit.

This fucker.

This guy is going to get knocked the fuck out.

He's obsessed with my girlfriend and seriously tried to talk and/or trick her into a threesome with him and his so-called girl for an entire night. He started off trying to grope her and I got in his face and said he had better respect her boundaries. He didn't stop all night. He kept on sliding up with his stupid shit-eating grin and totally disrespecting my girl by basically asking me if he could have sex with her and his cunt of a girlfriend. He tried to sweeten the deal by introducing me to his girl. He took Raph's coat and bag and stored them in his bedroom when she wasn't looking, and when she went to get her stuff he totally tried to molest her. I didn't knock the guy out at the time because we were in this weirdo's house, for some god-awful reason, along with a bunch of other people who were after-partying there.

He tries it again and it's his teeth all over the place, and me grinning this time with a pair of pliers.

The only catch as I see it is having to list at least 20 francophone artists that you would want to play. This would become tenuous if you were trying to do a DJ set sort of show as you would be stuck in a particular genre. If they are even more specific and mean Quebecois artists, then you basically have no choice to do a very general electronica show. Forgive my ignorance, but I can't personally think of 20 francophone artists that I would want to play music by on a radio show. A bit less than 20, but not 20. And there are only three to five francophone breakcore artists I can think of so there goes that idea.

The Miasma & Pin:ksox present

W.H.A.M. - War Hate Anarchy Malice

Jungle / Breakcore / Dubstep jam with the likes of

Sixteen Armed Jack - Vancouver, BC
The original ragga jungle trickster returns to unleash pure Mayhem and seriously mash up this function. Top shotta nuh miss, and this one reigns with champion sounds.

Nwodtlem - Toronto, ON
An audio-visual meltdown of pop culture, this lord of Jawa unleashes a furious spectacle for both ears and eyes - GET TO THE CHOPPA!! NOOOOOWWWW!

Recoil - Montreal, PQ
True gangsters wear Armani, and school the youth on the history of a genre. Recoil's crates are filled with old school jungle and drum and bass classics and will teach you punks a good lesson - RESPECT!

Db Vaig - Montreal, PQ
DbVaig is a straight up nice guy on the surface but I assure you he's mean as... as heck. You're gonna dance, ok? And like it! Dubstep, jungle, drum and bass. And a badass moustache.

Julie D - Montreal, PQ
Asses will move and heads will bob when Julie D hits the deck with rough and rugged jungle tracks interspersed with violent blasts of breakcore... get down or get lost!

Luke Peril - Montreal, PQ
Blistering fast ragga-breakcore laced with acid and then rolled in the blood of virgins, then lightly breaded with pancko and powdered sugar. Yeah, he's a weirdo.

Otherpeoplesmusic - Montreal, PQ
This man lives and breathes breakcore when he's not drinking liquid metal and making strange faces at strangers. I would definitely trust him with children. Oh, and he's going to be a daddy soon. Daddy of something twisted and strange? No you sicko, he's expecting a daughter!

Parallel Paradox - Montreal, PQ
Dubstep infused with clouds upon clouds of heavy smoke, with that particular top note that could only be the p-p-p-purple kush. Mad bass and rhythm.

IT'S ON - W.H.A.M. - the guaranteed antidote to artificial values of peace, love, unity, and respect that nobody actually follows...

Taking place at the Silver Door up there on the corner of yer Beaubien and yer Parc streets or boulevards or what have ye.

NOVEMBER 28TH!!! - DOORS AT 9PM

Only six clams, chill tes palourdes and be there...

True that Korine wrote it... but the style of the film, the salient techniques and treatment of the subject matter are Clark's work. You seen his hilarious cameo in Last Days? I cracked up when I saw that, makes me wonder if Von Trier was trying to make fun of Cobain.

Just to clarify for anyone who thinks I'm getting hot and bothered over this - I'm not, just making a point to discuss. Any immature "get the fuck out of this thread" shit is probably coming from a giant douche

The difference as I see it between someone on this website calling someone a fag and a television show trying to validate doing so is really a matter of how much of a stir it would cause.

On here or elsewhere in life, I hear people say fag all the time, you know, newfag, macfag, "quit being a fag" etc... I don't care really when that happens. A TV show however... geez man. It's not like the gay community is going to watch the episode and then go "oh I see, so I guess we don't have to take offense to Phelps anymore, and that dude in the trucker hat who just dragged my friend off to the woods to shoot him in the head probably did so because he drives a Harley".

Am I wrong to point that out? I don't feel the need to censor the world, but you do have to be sensitive when you're talking about a community. We could all say the swastika is ok again tomorrow and that Paki now refers to something else as well, and there'd still be a ton of people who wouldn't be up to date with this.

They did it for the controversy, as usual, and as much as I love the show, and never miss an episode, I just found this to be immature. I'm still watching the next one, but this was a sort of forgettable one.

I had an eSATA enclosure that I was using for a while to run my mac's internal hard-drive after my shit got fucked up... converting SATA to USB through a shitty, shitty camera style USB cable that kept going flaky. I ended up losing my whole hard drive because the cable was unreliable, and never ended up being able to recover the data. Generally speaking, if the enclosure is cheap-ass, expect death.

I now run my Macbook off an external WD MyBook drive, and it works great. Firewire 800 cable, fast access, computer runs as it should and I can crunch some pretty serious numbers off of it even though it's external. If you can get a decent external drive of this sort and a better enclosure, you may be able to back that drive up before it gets raped.

Fair enough, I guess I respect that. It's just that even if a few people evolve there are still people who refer to black people as niggers because they'd like to have them lynched again, people who refer to homosexuals as faggots because they want to beat them up, and people who refer to women as bitches because that's why they feel they have the right to rape them.

It's still a minority that understands the revised meaning of a term, there are still way too many ignorant and hateful people in the world for the hate behind the terms to disappear all because a shock tactic cartoon decides to pretend to be political. I understand the gesture, but it was hilarious in the nigger guy episode and just incomprehensible to me in this last one. I still don't like calling anybody a fag, it makes me feel like I'm in high school using that term. Douchebag is excellent, so is wanker, dickhead, prick, etc... plus I know right away that I'm talking about someone annoying. I personally only hear fag in reference to people being weak, not being macho, basically not being straight. It's what it implies, regardless of what people say. It implies "abnormal to heterosexual society". I don't know a lot of people who will call you a fag unless you're doing something that could be construed as "gay".

The connotation, no matter what you say, is that it is latently homosexual to get on a Harley with a bunch of other guys.

I've come around. I've been trying out these new sexorcism techniques, and indeed after a good deal of screaming there's no demon left in the room. Not too bad, only the amount of technicolor vomit in the room afterwards is sort of rough, as well as the blood and shit, and well, I didn't like seeing her plunge that crucifix into her vag... gotta say man, thumbs down on sexorcism. I think I might become a monk.

Il y a rien qui splash mais tu risques de casser la bouteille, c'est tout.

Mais serieusement je voulais juste faire moquer de le fait que c'est un "technique classique de France"... pfffttt... Hive-minded frenchmen. Everybody acts the same, dresses the same, and they put over 9000 soundsystems in a single acre, none of which are discernible unless you're right next to the speakers.

Hi, it's Erik again with "My Two Cents".

I really think everyone should chill and let the movie come out so that you have the 1.5 hours to 2 hours of content to criticize rather than just hearsay. Supposing that all your criticisms lead to Gnio working away in the editing room and turning out something that doesn't seem as pederast... then what? You'll look like fools, you'll have nothing to say anymore.

Wait for it to become a bigger problem - ie wait for it to fail, not make any money, and basically wind up as a wart in the NFB's history. It's going to be way more epic after the release if he gets sued or otherwise criticized than it could ever be if the trailer is all we're slamming.

As for the... what was the term... ephebophilia shown in the film, what can you do? There's a website called tinyangels that is way worse, the girls are actually naked - no... don't go there, anybody. I don't even know why I know about that site.

What Gnio is doing isn't peer porn but no doubt there are going to be peers of the teens shown in the film who will find the cinematography attractive; however given that there's some lecherous dickweed behind the camera, you know that the release of the film will lead to backlash.

Yet what will it do? Larry Clark made Kids, went on to do the incredibly controversial films Ken Park and Wassup Rockers, which are both pretty amazing films which hypersexualize teenagers. The difference between Clark and "gnio" is pretty huge though. First of all, Clark's cinematography was and still is groundbreaking, as is the subject matter. He cast sexually-active youth in his films, teenagers who consented entirely and were paid for their performances. He tried to convey an honest image of teenage sexuality in every one of these films and in his photography. The quality of his art makes the situation less cut-and-dry. Whether or not he is a pederast is sort of irrelevant in the context of what is being documented and how, as well as Clark's articulate nature, which has kept him from being completely banned, although Ken Park apparently got an X-rating and raised quite a stir. It's basically a teenage skater dude fucking his asian girlfriend, the whole movie.

I don't think that the director of Pola has the credentials to be able to defend himself against criticism of the sort Clark faced, nor that he has thought through his reasons for documenting this. I also doubt that the film will get any attention due to the fact that it is documenting the leftovers of an aesthetic that already has broken and dissipated. The documentaries such as "Raver Bathroom", based largely in Toronto during the mega-uber-super-giganto-rave phase of the late '90s focused more on the excessive size of these events, the debauchery of the bathroom (the most popular hangout at a rave, because you can actually see the sludge you're treading through and lift your phat pants above it, dry off a corner not covered in condensation, and try to snort drugs before they get soaked), and were documenting an end of an era, which these sort of events quite literally were.

Soon afterwards there was an inquest on the death of a raver at a Hullabulloo (HHC rave) in Toronto that led to strict legislation, namely a requirement to have trained security, buildings that met code, and plenty of other restrictions that made the arena-sized rave no longer tenable. There was something to document back then because it was a phenomenon; read: it was still something attracting thousands, rather than the puny turnouts documented in Pola.

So... TL;DR: Let the film release happen, then tear it to shreds. If it's a voyeuristic "ephebophiliac" piece of shit, there will be a reaction publicly, and he'll get his.
